More and more homes are now having solar panels installed on their roofs, taking advantage of the opportunity to produce their own electricity. But maybe you’re not getting the returns that you could be. Over time dirt builds up on solar panels and this can have a big effect on the efficiency of the panels. People think that rain washes away any dirt but rain won’t clean solar panels any more than it cleans your car.
We use purified water and a soft filament brush to gently clean solar panels using no chemicals that could damage them. The reality is that solar panels won’t need cleaning every few months, most solar companies will recommend 2-4 times a year, but we would certainly recommend that they get cleaned at the beginning of spring to take advantage of the spring and summer weather.
